Kyoto DJ/musician Halfby is debuting his new CD The Island of Curiosity at JB’s this Friday.  It’s a decent collection of surprisingly pop tracks with an easy-going, summer vibe to them.  He’s being supported on this night by several local DJs, but his live performance is more than enough incentive to pay ADV 2000 / DOOR 2500.

After much hype, the new local music collab, The Art Of War, will finally bring their rap-infused electronic sound to the masses.  They are being supported by LADY-M, The One20, DACROBASS and DJs Nick Edges, YOSHIDA3, DSK & more.  There will also be an extremely well-known mystery DJ to grace the stage… OK, you twisted my arm enough.  It’s DJ Babur, making another rare appearance after taking an extended sabbatical from the turntables earlier this year.  ADV 2000 / DOOR 2500

I have lots of love & respect for Nagoya’s ichiban gay & lesbian dance party.  Last month, when the AC at LOVER:z broke down in the middle of this monthly party, did they stop?  Hells, no!  Everyone just started shedding clothes and kept right on dancing!  That’s the kind of party mentality and dedication to good times that you can always expect from this scene.  This month’s theme is World Peace & Understand, and don’t we all need a little more of that right about now? 2500 (2D)

Kat McDowell, a Tokyo singer/songwriter, is performing at this little known yet huge banquet hall out in the “wilds” of Seto.  As a special treat, John Janzen & Shion from Fatblueman will be opening for her.  A lot of folksy music with a gorgeous view for only ADV 2000 / DOOR 2500.
